Undergraduate/Post-Undergraduate (Summer) Intern - Cyber Security Research
The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is a leading institution focused on energy systems research and development. They are seeking an intern to support their Cybersecurity Research Center, contributing to research on the resilience of the U.S. electric grid and cybersecurity assessment of distributed energy systems.

Responsibilities
Assisting with cybersecurity testing either using hardware equipment or in virtualized environment
Simulation and emulation of experiments related to cybersecurity and resilience using NREL Cyber Range
Data analysis, virtualization, visualization, and reporting
Performing literature reviews and background research
Publishing research results in reputable conferences or journals
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution
Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average
Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor's program in cybersecurity, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields
Demonstrated experience in coding languages such as, Python, GO, and Rust
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in cybersecurity
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 products
Ability to work independently and collaborate with researchers in a team environment
Strong communication skills
Preferred
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in power systems
Previous experience with technical writing, literature review, or contributions to publishing scientific papers for conferences or journals
Demonstrated knowledge in cybersecurity standards, policy, and regulation
Demonstrated knowledge in cybersecurity risk quantification
