Responsibilities

Working with the AECOM ecological team to become familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools
Assisting AECOM ecological teams in performing wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological field surveys
Assisting AECOM ecological teams with writing and developing field data sheets and reports
Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, or endangered and threatened species coordination
Creating field maps and report mapping through Geographic Information System (GIS) programs, specifically ESRI software
Reviewing desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments

Required

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies, GIS, or another related field and must have completed at least 2 years of study
Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions
Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
Interns will be accompanied by AECOM team members
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review

Preferred

Be able to work independently or in a team environment, both in-person and virtually
Strong verbal and written communication skills
GIS software experience is preferred but not required for this position. AECOM utilizes ESRI based software including ArcPro and ArcMap
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
