Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting

Mosaic Management, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist in maintaining A/R, A/P, and Cash systems, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements. The role involves supervising staff accountants, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and/or review Monthly Financial Reports for multiple entities
Supervise and direct Staff Accountants in preparation of month-end close reconciliations and financial statements
Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
Prepare annual and semi-annual budgets for multiple entities
Maintain an accounting and month-end close system by preparing balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline
Prepare and review complex expense allocations including but not limited to group policy insurance, workers compensation and labor allocations
Reconcile intercompany billings between management companies and operating communities
Perform analysis on budget variances and communicate those variances to the department heads on a monthly basis
Oversee preparation and submission of construction draws
Maintain a system of fixed assets by ensuring capitalization policy is followed, additions and dispositions are recorded accurately, classification is appropriate, and depreciation and amortization are recorded in a proper manner
Assess internal controls, perform risk assessments, and offer solutions for implementation if risks are discovered
Assist in maintaining a system of accounts payable to include invoices, purchase orders, pay vouchers, check registers, ledgers, etc., as necessary
Assist in maintaining a system of accounts receivable, to include sending statements, aged accounts, balance ledgers, post changes, etc. as required
Continuous monitoring and maintenance of vendor remittance information
Perform a variety of financial or statistical records keeping and tracking systems
Act as a resource to staff regarding various accounting reports inquiries
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Assemble information for external auditors
Maintain the chart of accounts
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and forms
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required
Assist Director of Accounting on other tasks as needed
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with facility personnel, to include but not limited to all departments within the home office as well as the facilities assigned, to ensure that the accounting services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the requirements of Mosaic Management Inc. as well as all facilities assigned
Interpret the facility's accounting policies and procedures to home office personnel, facility residents and family members as necessary
Ensure that all employees and resident’s right to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times
Assist in maintaining a good public relations program that serves the best interest of Mosaic Management Inc. and all facilities assigned
Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with all residents, community personnel, professionals, investors, organizations, institutions, customers, and vendors
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personnel interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the home office and with each facility assigned
Assist in the development of and participate in programs designed for in-service education, on-the-job training, and orientation classes for the newly assigned personnel
Keep abreast of the economic conditions/situations and make adjustments as directed to ensure the continued ability to provide quality resident care and customer service
Represent Mosaic Management Inc. each of the communities assigned and participate in meetings as required by your immediate supervisor or the Executive Directors of the communities assigned
Represent the Community in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payers as directed by your immediate supervisor or the communities assigned
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep abreast of current changes in the health care field, as well, as maintain a professional status
Maintain an adequate liaison with residents, families, and community employees
Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or become necessary
Maintain the confidentiality of all pertinent resident, community, accounting, finance or other information to ensure that all resident’s rights and company information are protected
Assist in evaluating and implementing recommendations for each community as directed or necessary to maintain professional accounting and operational standards
Work with the facilities and home office consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as directed or required
Review complaints and grievances and make necessary oral and written reports to your immediate supervisor
Participates in the overall quality assessment and improvement of programs for the home office and all facilities assigned

Required

Must possess exceptional organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision
Be a self-starter, demonstrate initiative to research, strategize, and implement new programs and policies to enhance productivity and efficiency in the workplace environment
Must have above average customer service skills
Must be willing to take directions and complete tasks as assigned or required
Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting (although extensive experience may be considered as a substitute)
Must have, at a minimum, 2 years in accounting positions with progressively higher responsibility
Strong organizational, interpersonal, time management and written skills
Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language at a 12th grade level
Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, lenders, investors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Be a minimum of 21 years of age and of good moral character
Knowledgeable of office and accounting machines, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to home office and facility operations
Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality resident care and maintaining a sound operation
Knowledge of business transactions, accounting, and credit functions
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to communicate in a professional manner at all times regardless of how they are being treated by customers, residents, lenders, investors, or any others
Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices

Preferred

CPA license is preferred
Previous experience in public accounting is preferred
Familiarity with Sage 100, Blackline, Sage APA (Beanworks) and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
