Landscape Architect/Designer
Eden Garden Design is an award-winning Landscape Design + Build Studio based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to creating sustainable outdoor spaces. The Landscape Architect/Designer will lead design efforts for various projects, ensuring innovative and ecological solutions that align with client visions.
Responsibilities
Lead conceptual and schematic design, as well as master planning for residential, commercial and hospitality projects within Eden’s design + build model
Analyze site conditions (soil, ecology, hydrology, microclimate) and translate findings into informed, performative design solutions
Select and specify plant palettes emphasizing Texas native and climate-adapted species
Create compelling presentation materials - sketches, renderings, diagrams, and mood boards - tailored to each client’s vision
Develop detailed construction documentation (hardscape, grading, planting, lighting) and coordinate closely with the build team to maintain design intent through installation
Provide construction-phase support, including site visits, design adjustments, and quality control
Collaborate regularly with principals, project managers, contractors and broader project teams (architects, engineers, interior designers) to communicate concepts and drive alignment
Participate in client meetings throughout the design and build process, helping translate goals into actionable design direction
Ensure design decisions reflect Eden’s commitment to ecological stewardship, long-term resilience, and maintenance feasibility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field
3+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture or design + build practice
Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or comparable tools for design, documentation and visualization
Technical experience producing full drawing sets, including city code and permitting, construction details, hardscape systems, and material sourcing
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Genuine interest in ecological design, sustainability, and habitat creation
