Security Engineering Intern

The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is the lead enterprise technology organization for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. They are seeking a Security Engineering Intern to join the EOTSS Security Engineering Team, where the intern will learn about network security services and support, participate in operations, and assist with documentation and asset inventory.

Responsibilities

Learn what it is like to be part of day-to-day operations
Observe and participate in various incidents and change management processes
Have exposure to documentation and diagram updates
Work closely with Network Analysts, Security Engineering, and Network Engineers with asset inventory reconciliation and helping support day to day operations

Required

Applicants must be currently enrolled students at a higher education institution

Preferred

Understanding of TCP IP (IP addressing)
Understanding of network concepts
Local Area networks (LAN)
Wide Area Networks (WAN)
Network Management
Basic Network security concepts
Ability to read and write scripts in a modern language (pearl, python, ect)
Working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Customer service skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Self-motivated and ability to learn quickly
Ability to prioritize work/specific incidents
