Responsibilities

Acts as the primary liaison representing the material and supply organization and the processes and workings within it by interfacing with it or other technical personnel to advise them how the processes function within it
Reviews a high volume and/or variety of materials, supplies and services
Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers/components to achieve program goals. Follows up on all awards until completion of order
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. Works to solve a wide array of problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
Participates in determining objectives of assignment
Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion
Networks with senior internal and some external personnel in own area of expertise. Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
Utilizes ERP system and processes to manage the outcome for assigned commodity types

Qualification

Required

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Preferred

SAP experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply Chain
Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience working in a cross-functional team, such as including members from operations/production, technical/engineering groups, finance departments, etc
