Responsibilities
Being a faculty team member while students provide treatment to patients
Provide constructive feedback while supporting student success
Assisting in course revision/program development activities
Administering local anesthesia and other duties as needed
Managing medical emergencies in the clinic
Recognize the need for patient medical consultations and follow patient care protocols
Attending semester training, calibration, and methodology workshops (approximately 3-6 hours/semester)
Provide instruction in other dental hygiene program courses as needed
Performing oral examinations
Supporting supply inventory and equipment maintenance protocols
Managing Stark State College email account
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited higher education institution
A current license to practice dental hygiene in the state of Ohio, including a certificate to administer local anesthesia
A minimum of five years of current or recent experience practicing dental hygiene
Current certificate in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or the American Health and Safety Institute
Membership in applicable association
Must be able to communicate with all populations effectively
Must be able to think and have critical decision-making abilities
Have working knowledge of computers, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation
Must be available during the day, afternoons, and evenings
Hours will vary based on the semester and enrollment in the course/program
