Responsibilities
Lead and inspire high performing teams across data platform and analytics engineering, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement
Define and execute Gopuff’s data strategy, setting the vision for how data is collected, modeled and delivered to power analytics, experimentation and machine learning
Own the architecture of Gopuff’s modern data stack, ensuring it meets the company’s evolving needs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Partner cross functionally with business, product and operations leaders to prioritize data initiatives that drive measurable impact and align with company objectives
Mentor and grow data and analytics engineers, developing strong technical leaders and promoting best practices in data modeling, ELT and observability
Champion data quality, discoverability and reliability, ensuring metrics are trusted and reliable
Qualification
Required
Lead and inspire high performing teams across data platform and analytics engineering, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement
Define and execute Gopuff's data strategy, setting the vision for how data is collected, modeled and delivered to power analytics, experimentation and machine learning
Own the architecture of Gopuff's modern data stack, ensuring it meets the company's evolving needs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Partner cross functionally with business, product and operations leaders to prioritize data initiatives that drive measurable impact and align with company objectives
Mentor and grow data and analytics engineers, developing strong technical leaders and promoting best practices in data modeling, ELT and observability
Champion data quality, discoverability and reliability, ensuring metrics are trusted and reliable
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (dbt preferred)
Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and their underlying infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
Experience building batch data pipelines using DAG-based tools such as Dagster or Airflow
Exposure to modern BI and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
Experience deploying applications and services to Kubernetes and using related tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem (e.g., Helm, ArgoCD, Istio)
Experience implementing DevOps best practices within the data platform, including solutions for CI/CD, data observability, monitoring, and lineage
Experience designing and implementing event driven architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Azure Event Hubs
Experience developing real-time data pipelines using frameworks such as Apache Beam, Flink, or Spark Streaming
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Preferred
8+ years in data, analytics or software engineering, including at least 4 years leading technical teams
Demonstrated success in aligning technical data initiatives with business strategy to deliver tangible, measurable outcomes
Track record of building scalable data platforms and empowering teams to deliver analytical and ML solutions
Exceptional communication skills and experience influencing senior leadership
Passion for building data cultures that prioritize impact, reliability and accessibility
