This role involves supporting various Stormwater work programs through database management and customer service communications while improving work processes.

Responsibilities
Act as primary monitor of the SWSS Drainage Assistance phone line and e-mail submissions of public inquiries to the section during business hours. Provide information over the phone and by e-mail in coordination with KC Roads and KC DLS public inquiry lines
Support facility inspections and work authorization assignments
Update standard queries following established procedures. Assist in the development of routine reports
Communicate with customers; provide information and assistance on routine questions involving system processes and procedures
Participate in process improvement teams in support of systems
Support the Section’s Emergency Response Program and the Pre/Post Storm Facility Checks. Support may require work in an overtime capacity outside of normal business hours when directed
Other tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Basic knowledge of databases, models and asset management principles
Current technical skills in most common desktop workflow tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and Access
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in providing customer services
Skill in writing routine system documentation and technical reports
Skill in handling multiple competing priorities and producing detailed quality work within tight timeframes
Skill in planning, organizational, and basic project management skills
Skill in working effectively and cooperatively with other staff and customers
Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds
