Responsibilities

The Bed Board Associate is responsible for placing patients in the appropriate bed and maintaining the accuracy of the bedboard system

The Bed Board Associate is responsible for tracking bed assignments through a bed tracking system and to ensure timely and appropriate movement of patients within the hospital

The Bed Board Associate is expected to complete all admissions, transfers, discharges and other service level changes in a timely manner and work closely with clinical staff to obtain correct and timely orders and ensure accuracy of the patient's level of care

The Bed Board Associate is also responsible for verifying and reconciling the hospital census and distribution of the census to the appropriate clinical and operational staff

The Bed Board Associate works in conjunction with the clinical leadership in the facilitation of continuous patient throughput from all points of entry and internal transfer

The Bed Board Associate performs all job duties in a professional and courteous manner and demonstrates positive and appropriate skills with internal and external customers

The Bed Board Associate must possess the ability to work with others and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff physicians and visitors
