Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their growing Bridges & Structure’s team in New York. The role involves leading technical design on bridge projects, developing work plans, performing quality control, and serving as a point of contact for clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects

Develop work plans for bridge designs while coordinating with other disciplines

Perform cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents, and lead construction phase support tasks

Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff

Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices

Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications

Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors

Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects

Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits

May serve on professional association committees

May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required

8+ years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures is required

PE license is required in New York State (or through reciprocity)

Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning

Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

Masters degree is a plus

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation is a plus

Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus
