Astera Cancer Care is dedicated to providing excellence in patient care and treatment. They are seeking a Treatment/Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient appointments and support clinical providers in their oncology practice.

Responsibilities

Responsible for scheduling all patient appointments and oral teaches for office visits, laboratory, injections and chemotherapy treatments in accordance with scheduling policies and procedures

Supports all clinical providers

Follows up with billing to ensure the timely scheduling of patient chemotherapy education and the start of all treatments

Assures all scheduled appointments and/or treatments have been pre-certified

Maintains close communication with supervisor, pharmacy and physicians should medication not be approved or should a delay in approval occur

Utilizes effective time management skills to set priorities for all assignments/projects to be completed within required time frames

Greets all patients, families and caregivers and answers the telephone in a professional manner

Accepts and refers telephone calls for assigned members of the staff and answers/assists triage nurses with phones – communicate with clinical staff

Identify if premeds are needed for regimen and bring to attention of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or RNs

Orders and maintains all medical and clerical supplies and equipment. Checks orders upon arrival for completeness. Ensures that supplies are stored properly. Monitors all inventory

Practices OSHA safety standards. Maintains Universal Precautions

All other duties as assigned
