USAJOBS is seeking a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the National Guard. The role involves planning personnel allocation and overseeing work operations while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Plan overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization ensuring accomplishment of work operations
Analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors for work orders, projects, and the status of work accomplished
Explain work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations
Recommend promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by supervisors
Make formal appraisal of supervisors' work performance and reviews employee appraisals submitted by them
Participate with higher level management officials and staff to study, develop and recommend changes in requirements, work techniques and standards
Determine long-range training needs for all levels of subordinates, submit funding requests, and arranges for the accomplishment of training
Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised
Implement and comply with agency, state, and Federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements
Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Experience which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates and explain manuals and work procedures
Experience estimating material and manpower needed for specific jobs
Experience preparing production records, work records and reports
Must have 36 months experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying vehicles, equipment, and systems
Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve maintenance and repair problems
Experience in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems
Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel
Experience reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines
Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise and communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes
Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations
Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment
