Responsibilities
Owns the overall design, is a visionary and able to execute fully efficiently and effectively resolved mood boards, 2D/3D sketches and complex tech packs aligned to brand foundation and business needs
Provides technical leadership on complex projects and new technology
Responsible for all technical aspects for large complex projects and is recognized as a technical expert
Own and deliver fully resolved sketches and tech packs of new eyewear concepts based on the specifications set per the product brief and licensor requests
Excellence in generating and approving fully detailed technical drawings, inclusive of section drawings, exploded views, and notes for prototyping
Excellence in CAD assessment/revisions to ensure accurate translation of drawings, adherence to QC standards, and proper fit
Own and drive design ideation, technology, and trend research sessions
Lead in gathering, interpreting, sharing, and raising awareness of technology and trends in the eyewear and fashion markets
Lead product innovation with factories and ensure compliance with all quality requirements
Review, mentor, and critique the junior design team
Communicate and collaborate with all other designer levels to help with ad-hoc projects
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Industrial Design or related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of eyewear design experience
Excellent Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Proficiency in 3D advanced surfacing in programs such as Rhino, Alias, or Pre-E
Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitask
Excellence in sketching, concept ideation, and design vision
Excellent project management skills
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the job duties
Travel domestic and international may be required
Preferred
Portfolio that clearly demonstrates strategic design thinking and exceptional design craft
Proven track record as a primary contributor to high-impact, mission-critical projects
Exceptional technical proficiency across all relevant design tools and methodologies, including the Adobe Creative Suite and specialized CAD software
Deep understanding of associated manufacturing processes, specifically injection molding (e.g., for eyewear)
Mastery of advanced 3D surfacing programs such as Rhino, SolidWorks, and KeyShot for complex modeling and rendering
Utilization of AI-driven ideation and multimedia presentation applications (e.g., Keynote, DaVinci Resolve)
