5+ years expMOTUL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to lead the accounting and financial operations for their operations in the US and Canada. The role involves ownership of accounting and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local regulations.

Responsibilities
Own the monthly and annual financial close for US and Canadian entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Group standards and US GAAP
Prepare financial statements, cash flow reporting, and key performance indicators, with clear analysis of variances versus budget and forecast
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with commercial and operations teams
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and support audit and statutory requirements
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and local regulatory requirements
Support tax reporting (sales/use tax and income tax schedules) in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process simplification, automation, cost-reduction programs, and ad-hoc strategic projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
5 to 7 years experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
Experience in a senior accounting role or as a lead accountant in a medium to large-sized organization
Direct involvement in external audits, preparing necessary documentation, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring compliance with regulations
English
Proficient and effective in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent skills in Excel (SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, LOOKUP)
Preferred
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance is a plus
Audit experience could be a real plus
Spanish or French: nice to have
