Senior Transportation Planner or Engineer
AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization, seeking a Senior Transportation Planner or Engineer to enhance their transportation planning expertise. The role involves leading technical elements of transportation planning studies, providing expertise in transportation modeling, and managing projects for local municipalities and state DOTs.

Responsibilities
Acts as technical lead on transportation planning projects directing junior staff
Provides guidance and oversight to multi-disciplinary teams, including providing guidance on technical analysis, report documentation, alternatives analysis, and modeling efforts
May manage transportation planning projects
Assists with analysis and preparation of reports, such as feasibility and corridor studies, traffic impact analyses, multi-modal projects, and safety projects
Is proficient at using modeling software such as TransModeler, Aimsun, and/or Vissim, as well as Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, and/or IHSDM to develop project solutions
Provides quality control reviews for work performed by others
Coordinates with clients and leads client meetings
Writes project proposal components, develops scopes of work, and compiles fee estimates
Supports business development efforts by meeting with current and potential clients
Qualification
Required
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related field
At least 8 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or related field
Professional Registration in your field of practice, e.g., P.E. or AICP
Strong technical writing and verbal communications skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to mentor and guide junior staff
Dynamic and passionate about the transportation planning field
Proven track record in applying a range of relevant analytical techniques to meet varying client / project requirements on a diverse range of projects
Good organizational, communication, time, and budget management skills
Ability to manage and work on various projects of various sizes concurrently
Experience with traffic modeling software, such as Transmodeler, VISSIM, and/or Aimsun
Knowledge of corridor and environmental study processes
Technical expertise to lead modeling components of corridor analyses
Ability to present results to clients and incorporate feedback
Experience in leading the production of technical reports
Coordination with internal project teams and junior staff
Experience in project management, proposal preparation, and business development activities
Preferred
Certification of PTOE and/or RSP
