Responsibilities

Reviewing approved mortgage loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing

Assembling documents for delivery to title company, real estate broker or lending officer for closing

Entering numbers and calculates loan interest and principal payment and closing costs either by computer or using factor table and calculator

Verifying accuracy and consistency of specifications on title abstracts, insurance forms and other required documents

Typing closing documents

Answering questions regarding closing requirements

Calling borrowers, real estate brokers, and/or title companies to request specified and required documents

Recording loan information in log and on government reporting forms

Adhering to and complying with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, adhering to bank policies and procedures and completing required training

Required

Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience

High school degree or equivalent required

Basic knowledge of the different requirements for closing Conventional, Construction, FHA, MISHDA, RD and VA loans, as well as an understanding of the differences between refinance and purchase transactions

Demonstrates courtesy and tact in frequent interactions with customers and internal and external partners, clearly communicating routine information, instructions, updates, and referrals

Performs non-complex arithmetic calculations for closing activities and effectively mediates potential issues between buyers, sellers, and realtors
