Director of Development Operations

Covenant House New Jersey is dedicated to serving young people and survivors of human trafficking. They are seeking a Director of Development Operations to create and maintain an effective development backoffice infrastructure aimed at optimizing fundraising processes and increasing revenue.

Responsibilities

Leads moves management and develops and manages the internal systems of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for individuals and institutions, with a strong emphasis on major gifts prospect management, including but not limited to, portfolio management and tracking of proposals and goals
Ensures effective donor stewardship and supports donor stewardship program to ensure effective implementation and execution of the systems, processes, and workflows to effectively steward donors across all areas of giving
Strategizes donor engagement for Corporations and donors. Participates with frontline fundraisers in cultivation team discussions to strategize moves management at the donor level
Manages the Salesforce CRM system by overseeing the data entry, reporting, and data hygiene, and by fostering collaboration with internal constituents such as Finance and frontline fundraisers
Power user for other development systems like Donor Drive, Campaign Monitor, Simple Text and similar tools
Oversees policies and procedures. Creates and maintains standard operating procedures that promote that drive effective donor stewardship, moves management, data analytics and data integrity. Takes proactive leadership in making system recommendations that promote efficient flow of donor information to appropriate users
Leads analytics and learning for Corporations and donors. Consults with Development staff to track, analyze, and report on fundraising progress, donor trends, and overall fundraising landscape
Supports budgeting process. Collaborates with the CFO, Chief Development Officer and Senior Development Directors in the creation and tracking of the department's revenue and expense budget and reforecast
Supports Events As needed, attends and supports donor receptions, sleepouts and special events, which may be conducted outside the employee's normal work schedule
Coordinates and facilitates meetings for the Development departments-Sets agenda with leadership, invites participants, takes notes and records follow-ups and next steps
Attend professional development training as assigned
All other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer

Required

Profound and demonstrated commitment to social change and an unmistakable passion for our mission
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of five years experience in Development with a primary focus on operational infrastructure and experience supervising staff and convening collaborative teams
Minimum of two years as a Salesforce power user and/or administrator
A demonstrated knowledge of moves management
Drive and sophistication, excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of the fundraising department and the organization as a whole

Strategic thinking, with a broad awareness of the business objectives of Covenant House and the organization's key audiences and products
