Assistant Manager Regulatory Affairs
Hyundai Motor Group is looking for an Associate/Assistant Manager of Regulatory Affairs for their Government Affairs team in Washington, D.C. The role involves advancing the regulatory affairs function by providing support for public policy and regulatory advocacy objectives related to automotive safety, technology, and environmental issues.

Responsibilities
Assist in tracking, analyzing, monitoring and reporting on regulatory proposals, agency requests, and regulatory notices that could impact the company and the industry
Conduct research and compile information to support the HMG-DC Office’s regulatory advocacy efforts
Support the Director of Regulatory Affairs in the development of policy strategies related to a range of issues, including new products and advanced technologies, energy, environment, electrification, trade and vehicle safety
Attend relevant agency meetings, hearings, trade association meetings and support the preparation of summaries and internal briefings
Support the execution of special events and programs including auto shows and technical showcases that will enhance our image and build understanding and support for our issues
Assist with the drafting and preparation of letters, position papers, comments, testimonies, talking points, memos, reports and other materials for internal use or to federal and state agencies
Partner with internal departments to identify opportunities for proactive policy engagement, determine the business impact of proposals and create and drive positive outcomes
Understand existing policies impacting the company and the automotive industry, and support senior staff in engagements with regulators, agency officials, other companies, trade associations and NGOs
Support relationship management and coordination efforts with company and affiliate leaders, as well as industry and value-chain counterparts
Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director of Regulatory Affairs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required; degree in Public Policy, Economics, Engineering, Public Affairs, or a related field considered most helpful
Familiarity with government affairs, particularly the regulatory environment and regulatory process; familiarity with automotive policy issues is helpful
Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical policy issues, synthesize information, and manage communications across teams
Positive, friendly disposition and a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
Ability to build relationships with federal and state regulators/Administration officials, agencies and other industry government affairs staff
Proficient in preparing PowerPoint presentations
