Adjunct Choreographer - Temporary position

Vertex Partnership Academies is a public charter International Baccalaureate World High School located in the Bronx. The Choreographer (Adjunct Faculty) will provide instructional and artistic support for the school’s spring musical production, focusing on choreography instruction, rehearsal facilitation, and collaboration with the production team.

Primary/Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Plan, teach, and rehearse choreography appropriate for a secondary school musical production

Provide direct instruction to students in movement, staging, musicality, and performance technique

Collaborate with the director, music staff, and production team to ensure alignment with instructional and artistic goals

Support students in preparing choreography for performances

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment during rehearsals

Adhere to school policies, schedules, and supervision expectations

Attend rehearsals and performances as required during the appointment term

Required

Demonstrated experience in choreography and/or musical theater performance

Experience working with students in an educational or teaching-artist capacity

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to differentiate instruction to support varying student skill levels

Must be eligible to work as a DOE-registered teaching artist (fingerprints and background check on file or eligible)

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

Professional performance experience (SAG or equivalent) preferred
