System Administrator – Enterprise Procurement System
The State of Montana Department of Administration is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator for their Procurement Services Division. This role involves supporting the eMACS platform, ensuring efficient procurement processes, and collaborating with procurement professionals to enhance system functionality.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Support and enhance the electronic Montana Acquisition and Contracting System (eMACS)
Administration, maintenance, and optimization of systems that support vendor management, competitive bidding and procurement workflows, contract lifecycle management, and tracking of contract spend
Ensure reliable system performance, data integrity, and continuous improvement of the procurement technology environment
Serve as the primary technical resource for system administration
Focus on system configuration, integrations, security, and long-term system stewardship
Qualification
Required
An associates degree in information technology, or related field
Experience administering enterprise applications or SaaS platforms
Strong understanding of system configuration, user management, permissions, and workflow management
Ability to collaborate with non-technical professionals and translate business needs into system solutions
Experience performing troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and vendor coordination
Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, and system integrations
Knowledge of software interrelationships between applications and databases
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Prioritize staff workload and juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Communicate, develop, and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders
Effectively collaborate in a team environment
Able to work well under pressure
Ability to communicate technical information effectively orally and in writing with both highly technical and non-technical people at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
A working knowledge of and experience with service management tools such as ServiceNow
Able to learn about procurement and the processes performed within the Division
