Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds is a service union that represents workers on the East Coast. They are seeking part-time Computer Basics Instructors to empower workers through industry skills education and teach basic and advanced computer skills to adult learners.

Responsibilities

Plan lessons and activities that facilitate students’ acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills, particularly with regard to navigating Microsoft 365 applications

Teach course content using a student-centered teaching approach

Maintain and submit records of attendance

Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor

Participate in relevant professional development activities, as available

Qualification

Computer science certificationPrior teaching experienceMicrosoft 365 applicationsDigital platforms usageInterpersonal skills

Required

Prior experience as a computer teacher

Passion for fostering computer literacy skills in adult learners

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds

Ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data

Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption

Compliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organization

Preferred

Professional degree or certification in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline
