Responsibilities
Performs professional civil engineering work in the design, inspection, construction and maintenance of public works and utilities projects and facilities
Coordinates and reviews design and construction of private projects to ensure compatibility with City ordinances and facilities
Responsible for closely inspecting projects under construction and ensuring existing facilities are maintained in accordance with the proper engineering practices and techniques
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
Five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience in either design and construction of highways, streets, water distribution, waste water collection, site development, or other public works projects
Four (4) years of responsible supervisory experience in the design and construction of capital and public works projects
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment
