Accounting Assistant

Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support their Accounting department. The role involves assisting with data entry, processing transactions, and conducting audits while maintaining accurate accounting records.

Responsibilities

Assist with the maintenance of accounting records and verification of accounting data from processing vouchers and other documents
Assist with invoice preparation
Assist with balance sheet analysis
Perform basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing mail, etc
Assist with monitoring expenditures and budgetary controls and preparing reports for funding sources
Assist with analyzing accounts and ensures accuracy of balances
Assist in conducting standard internal audits of assigned corporate operations and prepares analysis of findings
Assist in preparing and submitting assigned management reports in established formats as required in a timely fashion
Other duties as required
Adheres to all policies, laws, regulations and codes of ethics and confidentiality as outlined by federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures

Qualification

Accounting principlesMS ExcelData entryOrganizational skillsInterpersonal skills

Required

Associate degree in accounting or Business Administration
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and regulations regarding accounting practices
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, and subcontractors
Basic understanding of Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel
Trustworthy, efficient, and organized
Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police, Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance
Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal health care program
