Flow Technical Specialist, Full Time, First Shift, Core Lab

Responsibilities

Ensures technical competency of staff through the establishment of training and competency evaluation programs. Provides continuing education programs in the technical specialty across all UC Health hospitals
Provides advice and support to resolve technical issues including instrument malfunctions
Develops and implements new testing methods. Evaluates and makes recommendations for new instrumentation to UC Health Lab Steering Committee
Develops and implements technical quality assurance programs. Review and evaluates quality assurance reports to ensure compliance
Develops and directs the efforts to ensure correlation of data across testing methods and locations. Reviews and evaluates these efforts to ensure compliance
Reviews standards established by accrediting agencies to ensure compliance. Initiates new policies and procedures when appropriate
Ensures participation in accredited proficiency programs. Reviews and evaluates results of proficiency programs and initiates corrective action when indicated
Performs duties of a Medical Technologist II as required
While the position will work in a normal office environment, travel to the various hospitals and work locations may be necessary. Work hours will vary from time to time depending upon the needs of the business. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required for this position

Required

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
MT(ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required
