They are looking for a Chief Enterprise Architect to lead the Enterprise Business Transformation project, overseeing enterprise architecture governance and providing technical strategy leadership across a multi-vendor environment.

Responsibilities

Define and govern enterprise architecture framework for future-state HHS grants ecosystem across three major systems
Develop reference architectures, design patterns, and solution standards ensuring scalability, security, modularity, and interoperability
Provide strategic technical leadership and governance across multi-vendor environment (Grants.gov, GrantSolutions, TAGGS modernization)
Facilitate weekly architecture governance meetings establishing DoDAF SV-2 standards adopted enterprise-wide
Lead current state architecture assessment across all three platforms identifying legacy constraints, dependencies, and modernization priorities
Advise DIS leadership on major technical decisions including architectural trade-offs, technology selection, and investment prioritization
Design integration architecture framework for 49+ partner systems with 170+ unique interfaces
Establish technical vision and multi-year roadmap aligned with HHS IT strategy, Zero Trust principles, and DOGE cost-efficiency mandates
Coordinate with Senior Technical Director #2 (0.25 FTE) to ensure comprehensive architecture coverage across specialized domains
Lead architecture reviews and EPLC technical evaluations ensuring modernization aligns with enterprise vision
Develop cost-optimization strategy through architectural consolidation delivering 30%+ O&M cost reduction
Ensure architecture alignment with Federal Data & AI Strategy and trustworthy AI principles

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret trust or higher clearance, per contract requirements

Preferred

15+ years enterprise architecture experience in complex Federal IT environments, with 8+ years in chief architect or technical director roles leading large-scale modernization initiatives
Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, Federal Enterprise Architecture)
DoDAF architecture standards and SV-2 landscape diagram development
Multi-system integration architecture (SOA, microservices, API design)
Cloud architecture and migration strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Federal IT modernization and legacy system transformation
Zero Trust architecture principles and FISMA Moderate compliance
Architecture governance and multi-vendor technical oversight
Strategic technology roadmap development
Data architecture and semantic modeling
AI/ML architecture principles and governance frameworks
Technical debt assessment and quantification methodologies
Stakeholder engagement at CTO/CIO level
