International, Underwriting Assistant

Acadia Insurance, a member of W. R. Berkley Corporation, is seeking an International Underwriting Assistant to support their international team. The role involves obtaining quotes, preparing proposals, issuing policies, and ensuring compliance with regulations while delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

Obtain competitive quotes from international insurers according to underwriting guidelines
Prepare accurate quotes for cover holder and Freedom of Services (FOS) policies
Present quotes to underwriters in a clear and organized manner to support policy placement
Enter relevant data into systems promptly for efficient processing
Issue policies and endorsements and perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
Ensure all activities comply with international regulations and company policies
Secure binding confirmations and retrieve policies from foreign partners as needed
Coordinate with U.S. and foreign producers along with internal teams to meet service needs for global programs
Work with internal teams and external partners on enhancements to systems and workflows
Address and resolve client and partner inquiries related to billing, premium payments, and account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner

Required

1+ years Commercial multi-line insurance experience
Strong decision-making skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to collaborate with team members and partner carriers both in person and telephonically
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent PC skills and a working knowledge of Windows environment
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

Multinational experience a plus
Knowledge of rating practices and interpreting coverage forms a plus
