The Intern, Labor Relations & Compliance will collaborate with labor relations colleagues to assist in preparing arguments, conduct research, and perform data entry while participating in regular labor relations activities.

Responsibilities
Input grievances in a grievance management system
Utilize the grievance management system to pull trend reports
Identify grievance trends and work with Labour Relations Managers on action plans to reduce grievances
Support Labour Relations Manager by researching employee issues, including collective agreement interpretation, discipline, attendance management, and duty to accommodate
Assist the Labour Relations Manager with preparing for union joint conferences, arbitration and labour-management meetings
Qualification
Required
Experience in a unionized environment and interpreting as well as applying collective agreements and relevant federal employment legislation
Experience in building strong and positive relationships with stakeholders
Applies critical thinking
Communicates with impact
Collaborates with others and shares information
Demonstrates active listening
Ability to prepare consolidated material to be presented to a third party
Ability to analyze processes and data
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Labor, Industrial Relations or related field
Preferred
Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
