Accounting Policy Business Advisor - Vice President

Responsibilities
Provide accounting advisory and consulting services to the Group
Address IFRS issues at both the corporate level and transaction level (business line) with particular focus on US GAAP accounting
Participate in industry group meetings and comment letters aimed at getting industry views considered by standard setters and regulators
Prepare timely memos addressing accounting developments, accounting issues and new structured transactions
Support the wider Transaction, Policy & Advisory Group with technical accounting advice and help with general transaction reviews
Design and present training sessions on new US GAAP pronouncements
Manage relationships with key senior stakeholders including Americas heads of businesses and senior management within regional finance
Communicate IFRS and US GAAP developments to the Global Accounting Policy and Transaction Policy and Advisory Group teams
Liaise with EY accounting experts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Management
Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Proven experience in the financial services sector with a focus on financial instrument classification topics (strong ability to evaluate structured transactions involving financial instruments)
Experienced in technical knowledge of US GAAP with some exposure to IFRS
Experience managing complex relationships with key senior stakeholders; strong executive messaging skills
Preferred
HGB experience and public accounting experience desired
Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as this role is based in New York and will report to the Head of Americas Accounting Policy in Jacksonville
Have strong inter-personal skills and ability to contribute to team culture
Have excellent oral and written communication skills
Be able to demonstrate sound judgement
