Senior Career Development Specialist

The University of Houston is seeking a Senior Career Development Specialist to develop and administer advanced career programming for students and alumni. The role involves consulting with candidates and employers, promoting placement activities, and managing career services to enhance job opportunities for graduates.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements programming to educate experienced graduate students and alumni about career development and job search activities
Consults with experienced candidates and employers on issues related to career growth and hiring programs; conducts assessments and administers executive coaching to working professionals
Contacts potential employers to promote placement activities for the college
Collaborates with executive recruiters to place graduate students and alumni in senior level and executive management roles
Serves as liaison between employers, faculty, administrators and alumni to advance career opportunities
Represents the college to external groups to promote the admissions, alumni relations and placement goals of the college
Manages experienced hire programs for one or more graduate degree programs
Monitors, analyses and reports on labor market conditions and emerging technologies to assist in program development
Maintains and analyzes data and conducts assessments regarding career services and placement for reporting to the university and the media
Develops training for students inside and outside the classroom to help them build and assess skills related to professional communications and development
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

Application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge
Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed
