Marcone Supply is seeking a Vice President of Merchandising to build and lead their merchandising function across HVAC, Appliance Parts, and Plumbing categories. Responsibilities

Own turning merchandising strategy for HVAC, Appliance Parts, and Plumbing categories created by business leaders into an action and execution plan
Lead merchandising efforts across all sales channels: owned ecommerce sites, brick and mortar, and third-party marketplaces
Evaluate incremental sales and margin opportunities across channels, making data-driven recommendations on where to invest
Develop a cohesive go-to-market strategy that aligns channel execution with category priorities and avoids channel conflict
Partner with BU Leaders and RVPs to translate product and GTM strategies into channel execution plans
Oversee enriched data and content, bringing products to market quickly and with high quality to ensure conversion and wallet share growth
Focus merchandising efforts on trades and professional customers as the primary audience
Support all customer segment strategies, making proactive recommendations to maximize performance across segments
Drive wallet share expansion with existing customers through cross-sell and upsell execution
Enable new customer acquisition through optimized digital merchandising and marketplace presence
Partner with Marketing to ensure qualified traffic is directed to optimized landing pages and conversion funnels
Accountable for ecommerce site performance, conversion rates, and digital revenue growth across owned properties
Own Amazon and third-party marketplace strategy, including product selection, pricing, content, and performance optimization
Ensure consistent product presentation and brand experience across all digital channels
Monitor competitive landscape and marketplace dynamics, adjusting strategy to maintain positioning
Enable field sales teams with product knowledge, competitive intelligence, and selling tools
Drive strategic field opportunities such as category expansion (e.g., plumbing presence everywhere HVAC exists)
Surface market intelligence and customer opportunities back to BU Leaders and executive team
Own the product data function including enrichment, taxonomy, and PIM integration
Ensure product data quality enables strong performance across all channels and marketplaces
Build and maintain strong partnerships with BU Leaders, RVPs, Marketing, Sales, and Operations
Articulate complex channel and category dynamics in simple, easy-to-understand ways that drive adoption and support
Secure buy-in from stakeholder groups on go-to-market strategies and investment priorities
Present recommendations to executive leadership with clear business cases and expected outcomes
Build the merchandising organization from scratch, defining roles, hiring talent, and establishing ways of working
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams
Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Develop talent pipelines and succession plans for key roles

Required

10+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, ecommerce, category management, or digital commerce
5+ years of leadership experience building and managing teams
Proven track record of driving revenue and margin growth across multiple channels
Experience with Amazon Seller Central/Vendor Central and third-party marketplace management

Preferred

Background in B2B distribution, wholesale, or professional/trades customer segments preferred
Experience building a function or team from scratch is highly valued
