Responsibilities
Provides professional informatics, data support and analysis for assessment and research to promote improved public health outcomes
Develops informatics systems and platforms
Performs advanced quantitative analysis and manages complex health information systems
Independently analyzes large, complex datasets and identifies meaningful trends and patterns
Translates complex statistical findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
Performs health informatics and statistical analysis
Demonstrates proficiency with SQL for database querying and management
Utilizes statistical programming languages (R and/or Python)
Works with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms)
Ensures a detail-oriented approach with commitment to data quality and accuracy
Qualification
Required
Two years of full-time experience in health informatics and analysis in a public health, human services, or closely related agency
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, data sciences, informatics, or a closely related field
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification
Preferred
Demonstrated experience performing health informatics and statistical analysis (analyzing data, not just collecting or entering it)
Proficiency with SQL for database querying and management
Hands-on experience with statistical programming languages (R and/or Python)
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms)
Ability to independently analyze large, complex datasets and identify meaningful trends and patterns
Knowledge of health data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10) and data governance principles
Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
Ability to translate complex statistical findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
Experience with disease surveillance systems, public health reporting, or epidemiological analysis
Detail-oriented approach with commitment to data quality and accuracy
