0+ years expStratus is seeking a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer I to join the Water Resources Team. This role focuses on gaining foundational engineering knowledge and assisting with design documents while supporting senior engineers in the design and development process.

Responsibilities
Design and draft plans for municipal and private water distribution systems, including pipelines, valves, and pumping stations
Develop engineering drawings and specifications for wastewater collection systems, including gravity sewers, lift stations, and force mains
Design and analyze stormwater management systems, including detention/retention basins, culverts, and storm drains, to comply with local drainage criteria and environmental standards
Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create and modify engineering documents, schematics, and technical drawings
Conduct engineering calculations and analyses to ensure that designs are feasible, safe, and compliant with applicable codes and standards
Collaborate with other engineers and consultants to integrate systems and equipment into comprehensive engineering solutions
Research materials, technologies, and regulatory requirements to support the design process and ensure compliance with industry standards
Participate in client and team meetings, presenting design updates and providing technical input on engineering solutions
Conduct site visits or inspections to gather data, evaluate project conditions, or assist with construction administration as needed
Assist in quality control by reviewing engineering deliverables for accuracy and adherence to project goals and company standards
Perform all other duties as assigned
Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues, including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
0-1 year of experience in engineering design or internship experience
Preferred
Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, SolidWorks) in an internship or academic setting
Engineer In Training (EIT) certification
