Wholesale Business Development Manager

Responsibilities
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential wholesale clients and market trends in the petroleum distribution industry
Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new wholesale accounts and expand the company's wholesale business
Actively pursue, secure, and close new wholesale fuel accounts. Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Identify, engage, and onboard commercial, industrial, government, institutional, and reseller clients to build strong and sustainable revenue streams
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective wholesale clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share in the wholesale petroleum sector
Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, and service agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships
Work closely with internal teams including logistics, dispatch, operations, and marketing to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery for all new and existing accounts
Represent Apex at conferences, trade shows, and regional industry events to promote the company and identify business opportunities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, company policies, safety requirements, and contract obligations
Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, new client acquisitions, market activity, and competitive intelligence
Recommend improvements in business processes, customer engagement, and sales strategies to enhance performance and profitability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience selling petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, heating oil, or related refined fuels
Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and securing new clients in the petroleum, energy, transportation, or fuel distribution sectors
Strong understanding of wholesale distribution channels and market dynamics
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
A results-driven and strategic thinker with proactive problem-solving ability
Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tracking tools
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
