Quality Engineer

International is a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, and they are seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality at their IC Bus Plant. Responsibilities

Lead investigations into product and process issues, using structured problem-solving to identify root causes and drive lasting solutions
Facilitate cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions
Actively participate in product design reviews and program discussions to surface risks early and ensure they are addressed
Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality methods, procedures, and equipment to strengthen product and process capability
Provide technical quality expertise to support certification efforts, cost reduction initiatives, and warranty improvement
Lead PFMEA sessions and process risk assessments for new product introductions, ensuring risks are proactively mitigated
Identify process vulnerabilities and establish measurement routines for critical parts and characteristics
Promote a preventive, risk-based quality mindset that goes beyond deviation management and aligns with the 'Profit and Loss - P&L Way'
Monitor, analyze, and communicate key quality metrics, including defect rates and warranty trends
Drive error-proofing strategies and support the deployment of torque strategies for critical joints
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure robust control plans are developed, implemented, and sustained

Required

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of Engineering, Reliability, or Quality Assurance experience
OR Master's degree and at least 1 year of Engineering, Reliability, or Quality Assurance experience
OR At least 5 years of Engineering, Reliability, or Quality Assurance experience
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Preferred

Strong problem-solving skills with experience using structured root cause analysis methodologies
Hands-on experience in manufacturing, quality, or product development environments
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and Minitab
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Confident communicator who can collaborate, influence, and build alignment across functions
Self-directed and comfortable working independently while managing complex priorities
Curious, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and prevention
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Experience mentoring or providing informal guidance to peers is a plus
