Responsibilities

Provides support for families and health educators for the upWORDS program or other healthcare events

Provides a safe environment for children/infants within upWORDS class to support the families as needed

Supports health educators in helping families to be recruited for the program

Transports necessary classroom/recruiting materials for upWORDS or healthcare events

Maintains attendance and classroom-related data in paper and online systems

Provides information and resources to families and members of the community regarding early brain development at recruitment events

Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members

Coordinates area communication systems/procedures

Completes secretarial duties and is assigned special projects

Participates in achieving hospital and department goals

Qualification

Community Health Worker (CHW)Bilingual (Spanish)Customer service skillsSecretarial dutiesData management

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

CHW - Community Health Worker by the Texas Department of State Health Services

2 years related experience

6 months experience in a medical office, childcare setting, or hospital environment
