Responsibilities

Participate in onboarding program: During the first two weeks, attend meetings with team members as a part of TMHCC Specialty Group’s onboarding program. This will give you the opportunity to learn what each of the team members does and how they interact with each other to achieve business results. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the ins and outs of underwriting specialty insurance policies
Assist underwriters and department heads: Throughout the summer, assist underwriters and underwriting administrative assistants on various assignments. Some of the responsibilities may include creating PowerPoint presentations, scanning, and uploading documents into ImageRight, accessing, and distributing loss runs, processing broker appointment paperwork, administering endorsements, risk profiles, worksheets, and instruction sheets, generating insurance certificates, and assisting with quoting and binding products
Participate in the TMHCC Internship Enrichment Program: completing a cross-functional business case project, and weekly enrichment opportunities including Executive engagement sessions, and business fundamentals

Required

Must have earned 60 college credit hours, working towards bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, risk management, or related field
GPA of 3.0 or greater
Must be able to work for at least 12 consecutive weeks on a full time basis (35 hours per week) during summer, between the months of May and August
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Strong analytical and communication skills
Initiative and active contributor with activities
Motivation to succeed and seeking a long-term career opportunity
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred

1-2 internships in a business environment are preferred
