Permit Coordinator
Biarri Networks is dedicated to closing the digital divide by providing innovative broadband solutions. The Permit Coordinator will oversee the permitting process for FTTH projects, coordinating between customers, agencies, and internal teams to ensure compliance and expedite permit approvals.
Responsibilities
Identify permitting authorities within a boundary
Coordination with permitting authorities to obtain all permit requirements
Research, contact and obtain any data required from any utility or asset owner within the area
Manage regulatory compliance, ensuring all plans adhere to local ordinances, codes and permit requirements
Undertake risk assessments and manage issue resolution when required
Assist with data collection in the field
Create, collate, submit permits to permitting authorities
Manage, track and expedite permit approval process through to attainment
Review CAD drawing and provide feedback to ensure compliant permit packages
Regular work-related travel to project locations to engage with permitting authorities and end clients
Qualification
Required
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, permitting authorities, professionals, and end customers
Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
Demonstrated organizational ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders
Self-awareness and empathy to maximize your user and team interactions
Strong technical knowledge in aspects of FTTH deployments and how they related to permitting requirements
Willingness to learn and develop new skills, industry knowledge, and grow within the company
Ideally 2-3+ years experience managing FTTH (or similar) permits and working with local municipalities, Railroads and DoTs
Permitting experience in California preferred, specifically CalTrans
2-3+ years working within Telecom
