Hazardous and Radioactive Waste Technician

Responsibilities
Principal responsibilities include the identification, collection, processing, and shipment of radioactive and/or hazardous wastes and associated recordkeeping
Position requires a high level of customer interaction and the ability to meet the needs of the customer while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
High School degree or equivalent and 5 years relevant work experience
Experience should include leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines (i.e. physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff)
Strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational, public speaking and human relation skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and environment
Knowledge of PC and ability to use routine computer software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases)
Knowledge of radiation safety, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, or radioactive/hazardous waste management as appropriate to position
For positions involving radioactive/hazardous waste transport, CDL with Hazardous Materials Endorsement within 90 days of hire
