Evaluate the index in diverse geographic and climatic contexts
Conduct comparative analysis between different regions to improve fire risk prediction capabilities
Collaborate with leading experts and engage with emergency service organizations and stakeholders
Refine the fire danger index for practical applications
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, Earth System Science, or a related field
Strong expertise in satellite data analysis and geospatial modeling of environmental variables
Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R
Experience using GIS tools
A proven track record of scientific publications
Collaborative mindset
Preferred
Familiarity with NASA missions such as MODIS, VIIRS, SMAP, or Landsat
Knowledge of fire danger indices
Experience in vegetation or biomass assessment
