Seasonal Activity Specialist - Art & Cabin Counselor
YMCA of the Pines is seeking an Art Specialist & Cabin Counselor responsible for planning and leading various art programs for campers. The role includes creating age-appropriate lesson plans, supervising campers, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment during activities.

Responsibilities
Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers in program area and cabins
Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate art lesson plans
Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available
Assist campers with achieving their goals
Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; mealtimes; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned
Attend and participate in All Staff Training
Qualification
Required
The Art Specialist & Cabin Counselor is responsible for the planning, implementing and leading various art programs for campers in large and small group settings
Art Specialists lead and live with a cabin of up to 7 campers
Art activities include General Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Painting & Drawing, Jewelry Making, Music, Drama and Dance
The Art Specialist/Cabin Counselor role is a safety-sensitive position
Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers in program area and cabins
Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate art lesson plans
Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available
Assist campers with achieving their goals
Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers' day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; mealtimes; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned
Attend and participate in All Staff Training
18 years of age or older
Ability to lead and instruct a group of campers in art programming
Have knowledge in safety, care of equipment, inventory, skill instruction, and progressive age-appropriate programming
Must be able to identify age and grade level characteristics of campers
Training and certification will be provided during All Staff Training
