The Scion Group is defining the future of student living and is seeking a Property Accountant to manage general accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of communities. The role involves providing excellent service to onsite teams and interpreting financial narratives for effective business decisions.

Responsibilities

Maintains general ledgers in compliance with GAAP and update monthly

Prepares applicable monthly journal entries

Analyzes and prepares monthly financials for assigned properties

Executes monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts

Researches and reports financial and operational variances

Reviews revenue and contracts, monthly

Reviews month end financials prepared by the Property Accounting Team. Provide insight into variances to the Directors and Managers

Provides support to the Operations team as needed, regarding financial performance of assigned properties

Responsible for monthly accruals, TRS entries, ground leases and completeness of Cap Ex review and proper tags

Responds to auditor inquiries as requested

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3-5 years of post-baccalaureate work experience in an accounting function; experience in Real Estate or Property Management is a plus

Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with PMS systems such as Entrata is a plus

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Attentive to detail

Manages multiple projects and meets goals and deadlines timely and consistently
