Parkland College is seeking Classroom & Lab Assistants to support course instructors in delivering educational materials and fostering a positive learning environment. This part-time role involves various responsibilities, including assisting with classroom instruction, preparing lab materials, and operating office equipment.

Responsibilities

Assist with classroom instruction

Preparing laboratory materials

Obtaining and distributing course materials

Assist with completing forms in accordance with department procedures; submit reports and other materials as required

Operate office equipment, such as copiers, PCs, and/or phone systems

Work independently and efficiently

May assist with special projects and events

Other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills

Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting

Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance

Appropriate attire as discussed for the work environment

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act
