The University of Miami Health System is seeking a lecturer in Arabic and French or Spanish for a full-time, non-tenure-track position starting August 15, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Modern Standard Arabic, French, and/or Spanish, and collaborating on course and curriculum development.

Teaching undergraduate courses (12 credit hours per semester)

Meeting with students during regular weekly office hours

Collaborating with relevant program directors on course and curriculum development

Required

Formal training in the teaching of foreign language, specifically in the teaching of Arabic and French or Spanish to non-native speakers

Ability to teach elementary through advanced Modern Standard Arabic courses

Ability to teach French and/or Spanish courses at the elementary level or higher

Native/near-native/superior proficiency in Arabic, French or Spanish

Solid knowledge of English

Commitment to excellence in language pedagogy

Minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience

Ph.D. in Arabic literature or linguistics, French/Francophone literature or linguistics, Spanish literature or linguistics, comparative literature, second-language acquisition, or a related field, in hand by the start date of the appointment
