They are seeking a Vice Chair for the Medical Group Department to assist the Department Chair in overseeing the department, ensuring alignment with the academic mission, and supporting clinical trials and standards of care. The role involves a balance of administrative responsibilities and direct patient care activities.

Responsibilities
Assisting the Department Chair in the oversight of the Department and its Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals
Facilitating alignment of Faculty and APPs with the Academic mission of the Cancer Center
Supporting the accrual of patients to available Clinical Trials
Encouraging Department participation in development, writing, maintenance and adherence to pathways as clinical Standards of Care
Holding Faculty accountable for Clinical, Administrative, Research, Teaching and Service components of their roles
Ensuring Faculty dedicate appropriate time and effort to each of these roles, in accordance with their dedicated time commitment
Practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center
Providing patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Cancer Center
Serving as a member of the academic medical enterprise; advising the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer
Dedicating 10% - 15% of time to administrative responsibilities and 85% - 90% to direct patient care activities, research or education
Other related duties as assigned by appropriate Leadership
Qualification
Required
MD or Equivalent
Board certified (or eligible) in area of specialty
Florida Medical License
