Sr. Analyst, External Reporting & Corporate Accounting - The Toro Company

Responsibilities
Responsible for the analysis and preparation of quarterly SEC external reporting requirements, including disclosures on Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and other miscellaneous accounting matters. Lead the preparation and analysis of the quarterly disclosure checklist
Responsible for equity accounting and reporting: Record and reconcile equity transactions such as stock issuances, options, and restricted stock units (RSUs). Utilize valuation models such as Black-Scholes to determine the fair value of stock option awards. Calculate and record expense for stock-based compensation in accordance with ASC 718. Maintain accurate general ledger accounts for stockholders’ equity
Stay in touch with new SEC and FASB pronouncements and provide analysis and preparation of technical accounting memos, detailing the company’s position to ensure proper accounting treatment
Participate in acquisition-related purchase accounting and divestiture accounting for subsidiaries sold, including collaborating with external accounting firms and auditors regarding the valuation of acquired assets and assumed liabilities
Assist in the administration of SOX internal controls related to processes associated with external reporting
Assist in corporate accounting month-end close processes for technical accounting areas such as equity, derivatives, and deferred revenue, including completing quarterly account reconciliations of certain general ledger accounts
Partner with Human Resources, Legal, FP&A, and Treasury teams on equity-related matters
Support corporate activities such as dividends, share repurchases, and stock splits. Collaborate with third-party service providers such as transfer agents and equity plan administrators to ensure accurate processing of equity transactions. Monitor and reconcile data between internal and external platforms
Qualification
Required
BS / BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Analyst III (Sr.): Requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience OR minimum of 4+ years' experience in Big 4 public accounting
Analyst II: Requires a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience OR minimum of 1+ years' experience in Big 4 public accounting
Preferred
CPA preferred
Public accounting and external reporting experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated understanding of ERP accounting systems and applications (SAP, Workiva, or OneStream experience helpful)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proactive individual with leadership skills
Keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities with demonstrated ability to execute and implement change (process improvement, data integrity, clarity of data and messaging)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proven contribution toward moderately complex projects and work assignments
Strong systems acumen and excellent analytical skills
