Responsibilities

Operate converter plants and auxiliary equipment under normal and emergency conditions
Install and maintain electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, relays, controls, and SCADA systems
Interpret schematics and technical drawings to support troubleshooting and system analysis
Compile maintenance records and reports while ensuring accurate statistical tracking
Prepare detailed switching, tagging, and operating procedures in compliance with safety standards
Lead team development initiatives and contribute to achieving operational goals

Qualification

Electrical Utility experienceHVDC experienceTechnical proficiency in transformersSystem Operations certificationInterpret electrical schematicsCommitment to safety practicesTeam development initiatives

Required

Utility certification for station operation
Commitment to safety practices including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license
Ability to travel as business requires
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Preferred

Two-year diploma in Electrical or Electronic Technology from an institute of recognized standing
3 or more years of experience in Electrical Utility sub-station work
HVDC experience considered an asset
Technical proficiency in transformers, circuit breakers, thyristor valves, and related equipment
Familiarity with instrumentation and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings
