Responsibilities

Maintaining the network fabric of the ITD IT system architecture

Remaining well versed in a multi-vendor environment for layer 2/3 switching and routing, firewalls, SAN directors, as well as virtual and cloud-hosted networking technologies

Installing, configuring, and maintaining entire physical networking infrastructure including firewalls and core/distribution/access switches and routers

Utilizing network monitoring applications for traffic, access, and performance of entire network

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other IT-related discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements

In lieu of a Bachelor's: Associates' degree and 10 years of relevant experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements

Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification (CCNA or equivalent) or ability to obtain one within 180 days

Experience in performing maintenance and upgrades of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls and networks

Demonstrated ability in configuring routers, switches, and firewalls with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols

Experience in providing innovating methods and technical solutions to ensure network performance

Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc

Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
