Responsibilities

Verify incubation, ventilation, and sanitation programs are operating correctly; Perform calibration of incubation equipment and environmental controls; Conduct fertility and hatch residue breakouts to confirm proper incubation
Perform microbial plating and bacterial testing according to schedules; Monitor chick quality, rectal temperatures, and box counts; Verify compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SSOP, and biosecurity protocols
Compile and analyze data from incubation trials and QA audits; Maintain accurate records of hatch rates, mortality, and sanitation checks; Report deficiencies and assist in corrective actions
Conduct monthly audits of hatchery programs; Ensure adherence to NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state, and federal regulations
Assist with vaccine mixing and backup duties in processing; Communicate effectively with hatchery management and production teams; Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication both orally and in writing
Capable of independent decision making
Must have basic computer knowledge
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Must be able to stand for extended periods
Work in a wet, cold, or hot environment
Ability to lift 60 - 70 lbs

Preferred

Associate degree in Poultry Science or related field
1–3 years in hatchery or poultry QA environment
