Internet Sales and Receiving Coordinator
Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Internet Sales and Receiving Coordinator, a critical customer-facing role responsible for managing online and phone orders for the Bookstore and College. The position ensures an exceptional customer experience from order placement to final shipment, while also handling incoming merchandise and preparing it for the sales floor.

Responsibilities
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced office setting with frequent interruptions
Be able to accurately take orders from customers, and place orders with suppliers for high end gifts including tables, chairs, lamps and mirrors; often with customer requested personalization
Familiarity with store merchandise and the ability to answer customer questions about these products, their availability, and estimated shipping times both in person and online
Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of individuals
Be able to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues and customers
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
Basic math and accounting skills to count and handle cash, add prices, calculate sales tax, and include shipping on orders
Strong data entry skills
Resolve customer complaints and concerns
Be able to reconcile receipts and invoices against purchase orders
Reconcile incoming shipments
Prepare all incoming merchandise for the sales floor; folding clothing, pricing where necessary, checking SKUs
Ability to operate office and retail equipment including computers, credit card readers, barcode scanners, telephones, printer and scanners, hand trucks, and marking and tagging equipment
Strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems with computers, printers, card readers, and Colby Card machines
Familiarity with UPS, USPS, FedEx, and Freight shipping practices
Maintain a calendar of expiration dates for perishable items in the store
Train and supervise student employees as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent required
2 years of experience in customer service and/or a retail setting
The ability to work on Saturdays and Sundays, as assigned
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality with regard to employee and customer data, documents, issues, etc
The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines
Ability to remain positive and helpful in challenging situations
Ability to move around the office space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
Ability to stand for 8 hours or more a day and lift boxes weighing 40 pounds
Be able to climb stairs and ladders
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
The mental ability to shift focus quickly due to interruptions
